Multiple demands are made on us from all sides everyday, family, friends, and the boss. They all want something from us. Do you think that in the course of things anyone gives us a pat on the back and says we are doing fine?

In the whole hustle and bustle of it all we can lose ourselves and be guilty of self-sabotage in the process.

The problem of self sabotage in comes into play when we start to compare the present with a moment or event in the past. This can be a remarkable event or it can be a terribly negative event. Either way the present doesn’t usually stand a chance of measuring up.

With a continued habit of comparing the past with the present, apathy can set in which produces moments of self sabotage. This comparison is very effective for reducing any motivation we may have to continue striving toward our goals.

In the end we can end up digging a hole for ourselves where we are living quite close to the past we held in comparison.

Examples of what we should be, what we should drive and where we should work are constantly bombarding our senses. Over time they can have a demoralizing effect on our self-esteem, self-image and self-confidence.

But none of it is true. It is all a fantasy that someone else has made up and who successfully convince us is real. It is not real.

Here you will find some of the fantasies that others would like you to believe and alternatives to free yourself from their trap.

The Way You Look

According to advertisers and movie producers the best way to look is blonde, blue-eyed and skinny. But the true is that no one can look this way without the intervention of a surgeon. And even then it won’t last either.

Fact of the matter is beauty comes from within. It is inner beauty that is timeless and needs no facelift or tummy tuck. Learn to get in touch with you inner beauty and appreciate it.

Where You Work

Many people for various reasons work in a job that they absolutely hate. Yet, they get up each day and drag themselves to it. They find themselves slowly losing respect for themselves because they compromise their feelings everyday.

If this sounds like you then it is time to find a new place to work, one where you will actually look forward to going each day. It may take some time to find a replacement, but if you stick with it you will find the right job for you.

Your Love Life

The picture perfect relationship has two people madly in love no matter how long they have been together. They feel the same love they had for each other twenty years ago and it still pulses today.

In reality relationships are built and maintained. If you are in a rut with your relationship then take action to spice it up. Take your special someone out on the town or buy them an unexpected gift. Try anything that will grow your appreciation and love for them.

Forget Your Past

If you spend a great deal of time thinking about the past, especially a negative past, you will eventually run into trouble. That kind of negative energy is going to spill into your present life too.

Take step to let the past be the past and don’t dwell on it like it was yesterday. Why not take some action today to create a much better present and future? This would be time much better spent and who knows what the result may be.

Begin To Love Yourself

You are a unique individual and there is no one quite like you. Learn to appreciate your uniqueness and celebrate it. If you don’t love yourself it is going to come across to everyone you meet and perhaps you may talk them out of loving you too.

Spend time with those people who already love you and listen to the reasons why the do love you. This will let you know the things people appreciate about you. These are the things you should appreciate also.

Take some time to think over these tips and you will stop sabotaging your efforts to be happy. You will then be on your way to loving yourself more.
